frig me! Just buy a new engine instead :crazy::crazy:

mackaymanx - November 6th, 2009 at 12:43 PM

Pity the £2115.97 price tag dosen't include,
Oil Tank Hoses/hose ends
2007-2007 Subaru Alternator bracket,
Cosworth high volume/pressure oil pump

How much do you think the pump alone would cost on top of the £2115.97?

ian.mezz - November 6th, 2009 at 12:56 PM

shit if I was going to go to that much trouble I would just go buy a Subaru wrx sedan.
no worries about the sump hitting then:crazy::lol::crazy:

I've seen pumps on ebay for a couple of hundred, you could start with a standard sump - etc etc.

Why bother sometimes....

cause you care:lol:
ok when young Joel starts production I may be interested.
it has to look a bit rough to go with the rest of my car,

Mick058 - November 6th, 2009 at 01:02 PM

hey mate, the idea is fine - just curious how the company selling it could justify the price tag!

i appreciate the post and the pretty pics!

all good Reubs

We appreciate you reub. :) Well I do.

Some avd'ers are a bit hung up on telling people stuff is too much $$'s (not directed at you Mick)

Nice one Reub :tu:

I always thought a dry sump would be a great solution for the sump clearance problem.
Why (besides cost) didn't anybody do it yet?

Wow that has got me thinking.

It looks like an oversize power steering pump...

STIDUB - November 7th, 2009 at 12:33 PM

good to know im not the only one that thinks the prices for dry sump pumps/kits is insane, that said its definately the best way to never worry about breaking your sump, so... about that exhaust/oil filter thats now the lowest point... the list goes on doesnt it?

Out of curiosity, does anyone on here have a source for fittings & lines for this kind of thing?

Hi

I just found this sump on a US site http://www.drysump.com/pan32.htm  No prices though.

US$537

all this kind of cool, but remember asking JVL a while back if he was running a dry sump and he said he engine builder told him that subarus didn't need them as the sump was well designed to begin with. I guess AWDs may be a little different though.
