subliminal messaging works! ive been out buying more odds & ends to make my coolant system closer to working :D

I dunno how you manage to drive that thing daily with your header so low and not destroy it or the sump.

Mines 2.5-3" higher than yours and I've already wrecked 2 mufflers in only 10,000kms and drag my sump regularly, and its a 3.5" shorter one

:tu: Love the vid dude. An congrats on your 6 year achievement.

Although not as fast as a converted beetle (or as cool many would argue - including my) I'd still rather my wrx as a daily driver over my VWRX or aircooled efi beetle :D

Joel - January 4th, 2011 at 08:12 PM

I tried to get hold of a stock header to build mine from, you'd think there'd be hundreds sitting in sheds from all these boy racers that upgrade but no luck.

ugh the rack.... 2 1/2years later its still sitting there waiting to go in.

I just need to borrow a nutsert gun to install the mounting nutserts and relocate my rad return line cos I managed to position it right where the uni shaft for a rack goes.

Jak, just do the Albins, nice to know that they are there

Whats a LSD worth these days and best place to source?

I agree in raising height slightly, have the same issue and think as cool as it looks that 20mm will help with handling.

jigga - January 4th, 2011 at 11:34 PM

what seats are in that?

Also, the rear view mirrors?

Dub_Life - January 5th, 2011 at 05:20 PM

Great video! Great car! Thanks for sharing. Ps. how many gearboxes in that time, is it still stock vw box?

STIDUB - January 5th, 2011 at 08:35 PM

what about that gearbox that taught you that warwick was mean, & the drive back home in 3rd was it?? i still remember that test drive fondly too :tu: havent forgotten i owe you one either, motivation is back, we shall see how i go for nationals this year

Joel - January 6th, 2011 at 08:03 AM

Plus the 2 million that was probably on it before it went into your car

or was it a rebuild?

The old out of sight out of mind thing.
Mr B would probably hang me from the clothes line by my nads if he knew I've never even checked the oil level in mine since it was rebuilt and put in 9 years ago

when it starts making noises I'll think about it

lou0060 - January 6th, 2011 at 09:10 PM

hi Jak,

have always enjoyed reading your articles in VWMA. can you tell me what clutch you run in your car pls. I have a box Boris / Henry built for me and I think I have a clutch somewhere for it but not sure exactly what.

bugzla - January 7th, 2011 at 05:27 AM

hey jak by any chance did you get your half cage from a fellow from parramatta many years ago ?

Craig Torrens - January 7th, 2011 at 09:24 AM

Wow where did the time go ??.........6 years in a blink of an eye ! Well done Jak, I think you will have this car for life !!

crshbndct - January 31st, 2011 at 07:41 PM

wow. thats a really nice car.
what sort of mileage does it give you?
is the gearbox in it a type 1 box with the stronger 3rd and 4th gears? -> what sort of rpm are you pulling at highway speeds?

bugzla - January 31st, 2011 at 11:26 PM

thats awesome jak yes i was that fellow you bought it off man and it was many years ago always good to see things go to people that acually use the item not just keep in the cupboard .....................
