water temp

I have a EA82 turbo engine in my Baja, with rear mounted radiator. Radiator is out of a Ford V8. I have 1 thermo fan pushing and 1 pulling air with no thermostat currently in. Running around town temp goes between 75 and 90 Deg C. When on HWY at 100 Kph temp can rise to 100 Deg C and over. What should normal temps be at ?

This is the same thing everyone with a rear mounted rad finds out.

the fans can handle city speeds but out on the highway engine load is just too much for the fans to cope with, you end up speed limited by the fans.

Most subi operating temps are between 80-95c

Running an EFI engine with no thermostat is digging it an early grave,
Untill the temp gets to operating temp which will take for ever with no 'stat it'll be running on cold start enrichement and in closed loop mode for far too long.

I have the old EA81 in my baja and runs consistently at 180 f = 82 deg around town, but pushing soft sand on the beach with tail wind has gone to about 205 f = 96 deg before I decided it was time for a beer break. I have a smallish madza radiator but is up front where it should be in my opinion. ( Im no expert) If your up the sunshine coast feel free to have a look as i have mine mounted behind nose cone. I have the cheetcha baja kit.
