Hi all.
Does anyone know a friendly engineer in the Geelong region of Victoria. I would like to get things organized before moving on a subie conversion. Also
are there any club members in the area with this experience that I can call on for info help and see solutions first hand.
Thanks
Mark
No matter how friendly you find an engineer, they need to follow strict guide lines to stop you from becoming a fatality. I can put you in touch with someone here in Geelong who can guide you down the correct path to legally achieve your conversion, pm me for info cheers Frank
i appreciate your concern for safety...i.e. fatality but the engineers report is all about insurance...i can do a mod which is twice as good as original but without "engineering" or blue plate you give the insurers a way out
I didn't mean to imply anything illegal. I to want to stay alive and enjoy the experience of doing the conversion and the driving. What i would like
is someone who can help me and show me the way to do it myself, rather than just charge me money for a token cert. i enjoy doing the work. I will PM
you for the details.
Thanks.

I have my 74 ex pmg panel on the hoist at the moment, your welcome to come and have a look at the V8 conversion that I am playing with and ask any questions about any conversions, if I can answer them, I shall. cheers Frank
Much appreciated Frank. I will do so when i return from overseas. Have been working in Ukraine for the last couple of years. We expect to be home
sometime mid july.

Hi pete, its a 455 cubic inch bigblock oldsmobile motor out of a 68 Oldmobile Toronado front wheel drive, go into Kombi club Australia forum, click on "coming events" click on "Victoria" click on "VWMA Portland" scroll down to view some pics. cheers Frank
wow.... seen that done in a beetle but it seems to fit a lot better in a bus. where are you putting the radiator? Does it need a special brake setup?
The radiator will be directly in front of the motor with the air pickup from underneath, The LPG gas tank will be directly behind the front seat, it will be covered by a flat bed as like a ute, but with a roof?? if that makes sense. Havent seen this configuration in a bug, but its becoming a popular conversion with Porsche owners over in the states, thanks for the interest, cheers Frank
