Hi all, i'm working on fitting a subaru ej22 to my vw bus trans.

For doing that i need an adaptor plate. i have and agaptor plate wich fit the old models of subaru engine (ea), is there any way i can modify it that it will fit the ej enigne?

I think you'll find all e series are same pattern.

Nah they're mongrel things, EA81 is different to EA82 and both are different to EJ.

Subaru got it right and made all EJs the same

Only 2 bolts different on an EA to an EJ. You can modify to fit. But why bother. Do it right and get Seagulls.

Thx all, so from what you said it won't fit. i thought about building an adaptor plate between ea to ej bellhousing and solder it to my adaptor plate, that would fix the depth difrence between the ea and ej (12mm) and fit to the ea patern on my corrent plate, what do you think about that solution?

seagull can you please email me with some detail i may be itrested on youe plate.

seagull - April 30th, 2011 at 12:41 AM

do away with the adapter plate you have EA
Just fit a EJ adapter plate, these are 12mm thick
PS ( we have no idea were you are located so please fill out your profile ) also you dont have the link in this area so we can not email you

Postage is in Australia :)
