EJ20t bug mounts
QuadCam - October 9th, 2011 at 06:38 AM

I am still researching doing the swap, I have already set my bug up with a front mount Rad, I was wondering if there is a company who makes mounts for the ej207 or if you guys just fabricate mounts, This is my first bug I have done this conversion I have reversed drive subaru transmission, 5MT splitcase shortened transmission with PPG Gears and LSD

I understand RJES makes a kit for the VW bug, but I am not sure if it is for the DOHC engine

I am aware the luggage tray will need to be cut and I will need to fabricate a support for the Rear Fenders and Apron, to clear the DOHC heads,

Also what have other guys done from the heat from turbo getting into cabin area,

I am from Canada, and have done many LS1 and LS2 swaps in hot rods, but this is much different, Just wondering if anyone could send me some pictures as well

Any help would be nice, I spent a lot of times on this forum the last few days researching but would not mind talking to some who have done the swap

Hey Quadcam, the dimensions and photos for doing EJ20T mounts are on my website. Customers have been fabricating their own as they are quite simple, but I can get a set made for you if you like. There's also a bunch of pics in the 'build' area of the site of how the driveline bolts into a beetle pan.

Hope that helps

cheers

Todd

Fella keep looking I think if you lOok at what joel and ct have done they have good build threads. I think one of the buggy companies makes a mount that bolts onto the rear torsion tubes And looks pretty simple. Good luck keep us posted

I'm just using one of Craigs kafer bars with no engine mounts.

Turbo motors complicate it though as the turbo is in the way.
