Buggy owner here that just decided to make the leap and do the conversion. Just got the engine in and am planning the plumbing and radiator. I wanted to ask if any of the other buggy owners on here have a diagram of how the system looks? I pln on running a closed system with the burp tank as the fill because I plan on putting the radiator in the side pods. Also wanted to know what needs to be blocked off or will be unused as I have no need for a heater or air conditioning. Thanks for the help. Ps pics coming soon

What Engine ?
A/C has nothing to do with rad or cooling.
Heater will depend on engine.
when you say radiator in side pods, do you mean radiators in side pods or radiator in side pod ?
I know a few people with manxters and radiators in side pods with then both linked togeather.

One important thing to remember is to loop the heater inlet and outlet on the engine, not block them off. A flow through the heater circuit is required for the thermostat to operate.

It's an ej25. The answer about linking the heater pipes together is the perfect answer. Thank you. In looking at either side pod or pods. I'm looking a radiator options now and it's all about fitting. I'd like to run 2, one in each pod for symetry reasons but it's not a must and certainly complicates things.

So here is a pic of my buggy. The plan is to cut into the side pod area and create a vent out of carbon fiber to match the body styling ques. Any ideas on radiators? I think I can accomidate up to a 12" high radiator with a thin core. Lenght I am not sure of. I was looking at a Honda Del Sol radiator that is 11" x 14". Thinking I will have to run two of these though.

Without getting off track, is there any reason you don't want to put the radiator up the front?

I only ask because I honestly think it will cool better there. It will also make radiator choice and a bunch of other things a lot easier. That's where I put mine in my buggy. Admittedly my buggy is a lot higher off the ground but even still.

If you joined the pods yourself, i'm sure you can make a nice looking radiator cutout. Maybe fined?

I planned on putting the rad in the pods and making a finned carbon fiber scoop onset into the body. The front mount rad is not out of the question at all. I like the idea but the steering gear box is in the way due to the angle of my set up. I'm assuming that a steering joint may be able to solve this problem. Do any of you buggy guys have a pic that can show the rad in relation to the steering box in closer detail? I do plan on lifting the buggy some and the extra weight in the front should be helpful. Also, I can't find the alfa 33 radiator here in the US. I do think that one would be perfect fror the front though. And buggy builders with a link to your build thread would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sadly, can't find my build thread or the thread where I moved my rad from the back to the front.
