you may want to fit one of these higher then the radiator so that you can fill it an get all the air out of the cooling system.

That is planned with the plumbing. I done have the money for one at the moment. Was also thinking about using an overflow tank.

good to see you found this forum. good group of guys here.

looking good, it will be a absolute flyer with the power to weight ratio. How are you getting air to the radiator? I'm sure you'll get a few questions about this. Also is that the original Subi alternator bracket? Looks a bit flimsy.

arthur8804 - February 12th, 2012 at 01:58 PM

The pics show the "grill" that I created for air flow. I have been trying to get this damn hood scoop that I ordered to get to my house. This company is having major shipping issues. Anyway. The rear seat area is enclosed and has a plexi glass top. I plan on cutting a hole in that and putting the scoop on it to direct air flow straight to the radiator similar to it being at the front. If the airflow turns out not to be adequate due to being block by the windshield then I will create a scoop and incorporate it into the roll cage that will feed the scoop on top of the rear seat cover. Air bending!

The alternator bracket is real solid btw. The pic hardly shows the plate on the right side. This is where all the strength comes from. I created it based on the design of outfront motorsports here in the states. Theirs cost 60. This one I made for about $16.

Finally got this damn scoop. This is the plan to get air into the radiator. Eventually I will get a bigger 4" carbon fiber one.

nice rack...

um, that's not how I meant it to sound....

This doesn't mean you are playing with the idea of front mounting the radiator does it?

arthur8804 - February 20th, 2012 at 02:43 PM

Nope. Radiator is staying where it is. I'm waiting for the gas tank to come back, so I have to do it while the front is open. Had to cut away at the frame head. Thought I would compromise the integrity of the structure but that metal is super thin. Pics coming up.

pete wood - February 21st, 2012 at 05:38 PM

Shame you are leaving it at the back. I reckon you could get it in with no dramas at the front now.

arthur8804 - February 22nd, 2012 at 01:37 AM

I've done to many modifications in the back to turn back. To far commuted. At least I know that if it fails like most seem to think, then I have the front option.

pete wood - March 3rd, 2012 at 09:12 AM

fair enough

arthur8804 - March 5th, 2012 at 02:47 PM

Got the rack all hooked up.
