T3 IRS ok for buggy?
Mad Manx - January 30th, 2004 at 07:32 AM

Ok here it is: I can get a T3 irs rear end/box for nix. My plan someday is to convert my swing axle manx into an IRS and to fit a kombi box. Will the T3 trailing arms/pivot mounts be suitable to use with a kombi box in my buggy? Any advice will be warmly accepted:D

more yes' here.

The type 3 dual plate spring plates are especially good for offroaders.

However if it's got the heavier squareback torsion bars in it, you might want to swap them for beetle weight rear IRS torsion bars if you want the suspension to move :)

Same as above, you get the larger brakes as well !

And the type 3 pivot boxes are a hell of a lot easier to get out than the beetle ones.......
