Ok in light of my soon to be new baja kombi I will be adding a Baja Kombi Section to the Offroadvw.net website.
I have several articles I have written in the past and some new ones I have been working on.
I woudl like to add a photo gallery to give people ideas and as much info on lifting the front ends as possible.
Anyway if you have anything I can use including links please email them to me at
bajakombi@offroadvw.net
Cheers,
Coming soon !!!!!!!
Well you can count on me for heaps of pics of your new baby
hehe... well lets see them then :>
If you get keen you can write a history blurb for me from what you know. I would be keen to track down the original owner to if anyone knows who built
it .
As far as I know it was built by Darren who had the Grey/Green one. It was built for a guy called Jamie in the Capalaba area. Many moons ago
Would you like some pics of Baja Kombi's? I think I might have one or two here somewhere.......:P
Not seeing to many pics in my mail..... oh well guess no one cares :cry
Ever wondered how the big ass baja buses get so high ......
But the engine & gearbox are lowered the same amount down from the chassis, so you dont gain any more ground clearence on the important bits......and makes it that more top heavy
It does however mean that you can change the gearbox without removing the engine as the gearselector goes under the torsion bar.

It's doesn't seem to be a ongoing concern any more, but some pics and info, it's an australian site and i think it's creator was a member of this
forum. Speak to 11 cab, he seems to know a little bit about it

Steve the Van man is member of thsi site aka MonsterBus..... I have some pics and info on that site myself. I will contact Steve and see if he minds me using his stuff and giving him acknowledgement of it ..
Hey Brad,
My email is playing up so just incase you didnt get my reply feel free to grab what you want from the site. I dont have a login for it anymore, the
site went offline at the 911 disaster and I've never been able to get back in since then so it hasn't had an update for a looooong time. I sold my
Kombi about 3 years ago now to help finance a house build but still have the bug in my avatar. Anyway, good luck with the new site I look forward to
seeing some new Baja buses (The bus was so much fun I bought a Jeep 12 months ago for my offroad fun)
Cheers
Steve
