Well I am hoping my buggy will finally be finished by october so I am looking for somewhere to test it out locally before Stockton in November.
I'm in with a bit of luck! I live in Reddy Bay anyway so it's not far.
well as long as i can get the time off work id be interested
Nick
well depending on the weekend we will be interested and if you are thinking about renting a place my parents have a house over there that they rent out. The only problem is that the University whale watchers are renting it for the whale season. I will find out when they leave. It is cabable of sleeping up to 10 people but if you bring airbeds and dont mind sharing the floor it can sleep a lot more. It is on top of the hill over looking the pub and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and pub
yeh but how long does it take to walk back up the hill from the pub coming home
yes that is a problem.
Good stuff people are keen i was doing a bit of thinking today (not like me) i thought that october would be better september school holidays are bad
over there lots of people, also the buggy bash is on in 5 weeks i think and another thing you dont have to have a offroader to get there there are tar
roads to most places and as for walking back from the pub i cant remmber where the pub is sad i know but the last time i was there i was 13 but that
will be first on the list to find location of da pub as for the house or the camping i dont mind camping and im an apprentice so everything has to be
pove just look at my car but what ever suits, i will get a bit more info on the sites, tracks,PUBS and anything that i think of, some suggestions would
be good if you know of some good things to do over there so at the momment its set for mid october but can be changed to suit im keen anytime name a
date and im there
Are we allowed to teach them bad habits I mean ones you have not
taught them already.... JUST KIDDING HONEST.
Just got some info from this site have a look http://www.northstradbrokeholidays.com.au anyway the stradie island hotel has alot of things to offer like a BOTLLE SHOP and a PUB also meals and plenty of rooms, the ferry runs from clevland first at 530am and last 630pm and on friday it runs till 830 and costs $88 return $20 per meter for a trailer, camping were do i start there camping sites all over the island some they say is 4wd only ahh yeah ok well just check that out how selfs hay 4wd only my ass any way the main beach is 32 km long and goes all the way down to the jumping pin bar (good fishing) and there you can see south stradie also i beleave that it is still possible to drive down to the wide bay bar nice spot to see its at the other end of the island. so there you go have a look at that site and see what you think is good and let me no and weres the manx club these days lets see how many people we can get over there and make it baja/manx island anyway see how you go see ya im going to have a :beer:beer:beer:beer:beer:beer:puke

Hay that looks alright we may as well just go on that one to save fuss but if anyone is keen to go to rainbow beach for a test/hoon/just cause i can
trip ill be there will go before then anyway but will let you all know when im going just got my type 4 going so maby sooner rather than later
ive been to adder rock and its a top joint........whats the deal with having permits for the beaches and costs involved in camping etc?
Have a look at boozers thread most is in there
what about beach permits i though u had to have one now. and wasnt there somehting about bajas and buggies not being alowed on the beach as they arent
4WD or am i imagining things.
Nick
The last time i was over there we had to sweet talk the ranger into giving us a permit. it does say only 4wd but doesn't say no to baja's or manxs.
i think being out of school holidays there should be no problem. as long as you behave yourself and don't be a fool on the beach there should be no
problems.
As for the parents house it is booked until end of October and possibly thru till February 2005
Okay.... we have been over to Straddie a couple of times now.
Once last November and once in March this year. We had a ball.
Permits are easly purchased at the main office just as you come off the barge. I can not remember but i think they cost $10.00 or $15.00 for 24
hours.
We had no problems getting permits what so ever. November last year we had more VW's that came over that purchased the permits and went for a run on
the beaches. 1 X Baja Kombi, 1 X Baja Bug, 1 X Country Buggy and 1 X Rodeo and everyone that came in a none Beach going vehicle was placed in spare
seats and off we went. Evan Lindsay with a standard beetle went straight onto the beach and had a drive along
In March , Boozer and Niel (Baja Green Kombi) went mainly on the beach for a run... Michael in Boof went and explored some tracks as everyone else had
standard cars.
As Boozer posted we are going over in November again... think we might make it the annual trip.
No you dont have to be a Klub member to come along either

Hmmmm, If I remember correctly, the towball on our Kombi got bent pulling out a bogged 2wd Rodeo, and wheelstanding to boot.
Yeah Straddie was heaps of fun, just wish we had more time there
