buggy wiper motors..
~air fooled~ - March 8th, 2005 at 10:59 AM

ive got the screenw with the wiper motor and wipers attached but i dont have the original switch...

their is only 2 wires coming out the motor so im guessing it was a variable speed switch ( i think from year 12 physics 'potentiometer' is the tech term), but im guessing i need the right switch to match the motor to get it workin at the correct speeds... what does everyone else have on their buggys?

Think you might just have a single speeder. Mine has 4 or 5 coming out.. GND, LOW, HIGH and the contacts that open when the wipers are in the down position (so the wipers stop when they are down after you turn the switch off and for the INT control).
A potentiometer would blow up with the current from the motor.. A BIG 100W resistor could work though.

yeah it is weird... ive never seen a single speed wiper motor before, but i could make it variable speed... will have to have a closer look.. thanks mate

Sounds like you have a six volt motor, hope your buggy is regoed already because you need to have a "return to start" wiper for rego(and its a pain in the arse if not) I have to change the one on my manx b4 I re-rego it:(

hey i had a closer look last night and it looks all good... its a 12volt motor with auto stop, and thought it has 2 wires coming out of it that have been cut off it also has 3 terminals on the side labeled - + S .... will play with it more when the time comes... thanks all!
