Buggy Wiring Tubes under the guards
11CAB - April 24th, 2005 at 04:25 PM

What does everyone do to clean out the wiring tubes under the guards??
My manx has the wiring running down the right hand side, but has definately seen better days, so I want to pull it all out and start again. The left hand side doesnt have any wiring but seems to be clogged with dirt. I'd like to clean out both tubes so I can run wiring down both sides.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Going to rewire it soon and was after suggestions.

Yeah, I'd like to see some pics too, mine is run through some plastic piping (looks like miniature garden poly piping) under the drivers guard...would love to see what should be there.

Graham you will be sure to have a beetle clutch cable lying around , they work great , flexible but not flexible enough to fold over. I should imagine that only the end of the tubes are blocked up. good luck Andrew

I'm not sure about other buggies, but the tubing I'm talking about is original to Manxes, and is actually glassed under both guards running from front to rear.

Well I have managed to clean it out , and it was blocked where the rear guard kicks up, its the tightest part of the tube. I used the beetle clutch cable to get as far as I could, then drilled a hole from the inside to get the air nozzle in......now there is a pile of sand an inch thick on the floor....I never imagined that much sand could be in there.....LOL
