Woohoo! another victim!...err I mean convert. baja's are better. and cheaper. and did I mention better? Welcome anyway.:duh

bigbaja - May 26th, 2005 at 10:17 AM

ive got one
i,m at stafford

bajachris88 - May 26th, 2005 at 11:04 AM

I'm still into buggies. But then i saw a vw kooble kar (i think thats how its spelt, but its a type 82 WWII look alike) kit for sale, and i thought that it would be mad to buy that, full on baja and raise it, with a roll bar and a phat engine. Now that would be an awesome offroad.

Here, i will give u a web site on it.

http://www.kooblekar.com/

Pretty cheap too, can get it in steel or fibreglass.
I'm thinking of building one of those purely offroad (without the army theme) and totally baja it. They come with huge storage space, clips to hook picks and shovels too (like the WWII tanks), and clicks to store fuel and water contains to the side.

Just something new for vw based offroad vehicles, hence why i brought it up.

VDUBXTC - May 26th, 2005 at 12:21 PM

sorry to get off track and sorry to burst your bubble again chris, but i don't think they make a RHD version of that kit. Rendering it useless to australians.

Chewy - May 26th, 2005 at 01:09 PM

Something new for VW off-roaders chris>??
They've been around since 1938
A mate and I want to build one one day.. A guy we know from geelong built a replica and still has the dies for pressing panels.

bajachris88 - May 26th, 2005 at 01:24 PM

Well, true. Its not exactly new. But to me it is, its the 1st ive seen of the kit. lol

I know the originals have been around for ages, cause they came from ww2.

Hmm, not RHD. That sux ball. But it would be mad if they did make it RHD. I spose you may be able to shove in a RHD manx dash or possibly a RHD beetle dash. I'm not sure if it would be compatible, but it may.

be interesting to try out.:thumb

Chewy - May 26th, 2005 at 01:31 PM

You could convert to RHD pretty easily, I wouldnt give up the idea just because of that..

VDUBXTC - May 26th, 2005 at 05:21 PM

The main question should be will kit meet The ADR standards?.

Grant,

I am kicking the idea of selling up.
Call me if you are genuine and looking to spend around $13000.

This is an old Picture, it now has a soft top, new wheels and the bars have all been powdercoated Antique silver.

Darryl
P.S. It doesn't come with the personal plates.

Why you selling the buggy?

Manx Buggy For Sale - Brisbane

I have a genuine Manx Buggy for sale in Brisbane. It is grey in colour and the body has been fully restored and resprayed in high quaility 2 pak. When I say restored I mean the fibreglass has been repaired and strengthened and all holes fixed before respray not some dodgy job.

Engine - 1641 Type 1 engine with alternator, 009 dizy, as new exhaust, counter balanced crank. Was fully rebuilt about 4 years ago using new heads and parts. It could do with some new rings but still runs very well just blows a little smoke. Bottom end is fine.

Floor Pan - IRS / K&L pin with access hole, modified frame head, Offroad front end, rust free, 2" lift kit

Brakes - Disc brake front / Late beetle rear.

Wheels - Custom Steel mags, powdercoated with Yokahama Rubber at 90%.

Buggy has all the bits needed to finish give or take some small stuff we haven't needed yet. Bar work is all there with new rear cage and front bar, 4 pt roll cage, new wiring 70% complete, new lights, high back seats.

Buggy is plated as a genuine Meyers manx and come with Dept of Transport Papers for rego.

Price both options FIRM

$10 000 AS IS with all parts identified

$15 000 with 6 mths rego, RWC, blue plates etc etc.

Basically we are running out of room and time so I thought I would see if there was any interest in her as she is. If we do sell it AS IS then we are more than happy to help out with the RWC and blue plates when the time comes.

Can be viewed at Custom Offroad - 28 Hayward St Stafford - (07) 3356 4356
