Anyone going to this event this coming weekend? I've been to the last few and it's a great spectacle, watching people really chucking their motors around and not posing. It's on Sat,Sun & Mon just outside of Yandina on the Cooloolabin Road. A shame no off-road VWs have entered in the past other than the odd Syncro (I think I've only seen one in the last few years) a few guys with Suburus have given it a bash so some parts of it should be do-able in a buggy or baja bug/bus. It's organised by the Sunshine Coast 4x4 club and is a well organised event.

I don't think you'll see any buggies competing when you see how deep some of the water crossings are. It'd be the driver that needs the snorkel not the engine!! Some of the speed events and the high jump definitely would be good for VWs to entr though.
