i need a new front bar as im putting some new guards on and the current bar blocks some of the headlight and also as my current bar is slightly bent.

im thinking of just making something up in a simple loop out the front that rises above the bug eye lights with a cross bar.

something like this.



or is it worth extending the cross bar out to protect the guards?

i have a mate with a pipe bender and welder etc to make the bar up thats easy, im just wondering on design.

what do u guys run? pics would be great.

more then likely, depending wen your baja was complianced you will need full width frontal protection.

You need the bar to extend out to the guards to be legal

hmm ok. ill just extend the center cross bar out to the sides.

both different style of front end for ya nick, easy to build and good and strong.. cheap to replace if you have a bash or if some one bash's you, My old one (bug eyed) was hit by a volvo doing about 40k's bent mine very slightly but totaled his front bar,light grills etc...

thanks guys. i think ill go with my design and extend the cross bar but add some sort of bash plating to the sides and front.

another option i suppose is to go under the bug eye lights like on your yellow car steff but i think i want to keep the bar up over the lights to try to stop anything hitting them......perhaps bash plates up to the cross bar and mesh similar to "Boof"'s setup covering the bug eye lights and then spotties on top of the bar.....
