mmmmmmmmmmmm
Looks like the sort of thing that rolls out of Idlewild Offroad....
Whoever owns that hummer is going to being very very peeved when they find out someone's ripped off the body and stuck a beetle shell on.
But seriously, I wonder why people spend that much on a car only to pretend, not very convincingly, that it used to be a beetle, I mean it's a great
car, but it'd be much better with a buggy shell on it.
Bah, buggies are just for people that cant panel beat a baja back into shape....
Even before I liked Bajas I thought this was a wicked car!

im sure its not a hummer i looked at the other photos is totally custom baja power baby
I tired to have a look on that de-Zert site, but couldn't find any more photos, which may prove otherwise, however, I suspect what you're looking at is something like this one, which, whilst it looks like a baja, is in fact a full space frame buggy, with a Beetle body over the top, of which there are at least 6 or so in the competition arean in Oz.
Ooops, sorry picked up the wrong photo - that was a different class of vehicle completely. This is the one I was looking for....
Yea but that one still uses a beam front end, and probably a diagonal arm/spring plate rear end. The only thing the first pic has in common with a bug is the body sitting on top of it.

same looking front end

Chewy - agree with your comments, but the point is the first pic is a true baja, in that it's essentially a beetle, with modifications; the second one isn't a baja it's a tube frame with a beetle body over the top, in the same fashion as the one at the top of this thred, although yes, it is in this instance running the normal front end and not A-arm.
