Do you mean fibreglass buggy seats?
I've got them in my manx with a vinyl padded cover that slips over the outside. They're pretty comfy as you sit in them not on them if you know what I mean.

Ok, those are made of plastic, mine are the same shape but made of fibreglass

Anthiron - January 22nd, 2006 at 08:11 PM

did u buy them graham or did they come with the manx?

OZ Towdster - January 22nd, 2006 at 08:29 PM

Nick it is up to the person, but for my self the plastic seats in duckys old buggy are VERY uncomfortable for short or long trips as they do not mould to your back/butt as a lined fiberglass seat when the foam padding is correctly installed.

Anthiron - January 22nd, 2006 at 08:35 PM

hmmm ok.....interesting....anyone got a pic of these fibreglass seats?

11CAB - January 22nd, 2006 at 08:45 PM

Not the best shot, but here's a pic

11CAB - January 22nd, 2006 at 08:45 PM

and another to show the tops

Anthiron - January 22nd, 2006 at 08:56 PM

they look good graham. u know anywhere that sells them?

11CAB - January 22nd, 2006 at 09:05 PM

No sorry, I got the bucket cheap second hand, but the covers cost me $240 in a UV resistant vinyl....

OZ Towdster - January 22nd, 2006 at 09:12 PM

Give Volks mod a ring as they have that seat mould and are willing to produce them.

Anthiron - January 22nd, 2006 at 10:07 PM

subibaja - January 24th, 2006 at 08:21 PM

i had a brainwave today while i was ten pin bowling........i glanced accross at the acade bit and theres one of those racing games with a steerinwheela nd stuff......and the chairs are exactly the same as duckys old buckets!

i wrote down the company details off the machine but it was old and had an out of date 6 digit phone number maybe i can score some for cheap attached to an arcade machine lol.

droopz - January 25th, 2006 at 04:06 PM

Again they wont be ADR approved. The LAST thing you want to break in a crash (esp a head-on) is your seat. Things get very messy very quickly.

subibaja - January 25th, 2006 at 04:14 PM

its not that you might get hurt is who you might hurt

and the consiquences you will face by law.

your insurance will wipe you stright away

custom has a set of those seats but the law was changed a while ago so the customer couldnt put them in his car.

yeah i know.

and i understand and you are all very right. it annoys me though because i want to get my car to the stage where i can just pull over and hose it out without worrieing about stuff getting wrecked.

Where did this pic come from??????
Before or after my time.
Those seats you speak of are avail through Volks-mod, if you see a pic of their buggies it is the same as they use.

Anthiron - February 1st, 2006 at 08:55 PM

duckydubless - February 23rd, 2006 at 03:57 PM

what do you want to know

blueeagle - February 24th, 2006 at 05:23 PM

Hi Ducky, I just got back from an overnight stay in Strahan (Tassy) which is about three and a half hours drive from here. The seats pictured, although not armchairs, were fine for the trip and it was heaps of fun. We even got to play in the sand. I just wanted to know a few things like, how long since you had the car, did you do the mods, what are the changes you saw that concerned you. The previous owner only had it for about 2 months and details are sketchy and second hand. Any info would be a bonus.
