Spent a few hours working on my buggy today. Finally sorted my clutch shudder issue.
However, while I had one of the back wheels off, I noticed the bolts holding the brake backing plate on, were very loose. When I pulled the drum off,
all of them were not even finger tight and one had almost backed out completely. This made me check the other side where I found the same problem. I
have off course torqued them up a lot tighter now.
Has anyone else had this problem with their Baja or Buggy?
I thought it might be related to height of the tyre and such with such big tyres on it. Or maybe I just had the bolts not torqued up enough to begin
with.
What do you all reckon?
BTW, the car has early type 3 wide 5 drums on the back.
did they have spring washers on them ?
if not put them on, some people do the swap to t3 drums and don't use spring washers
yep fit the star spring washers n torque properly with a 14mm single hex socket.... no probs them
ta, yeah I think I'm missing the washers. might be up for some new bolt too.
