beetle from hell - September 27th, 2006 at 08:50 PM

Im building a baja to be road registered and am going to have a roll cage. umm front and middle hoop, no support to the front, rear cage connection.
Anyway. will i have any problem trying to register the car with vicroads if i have a roll cage with an engineers certificate? Or should i wait and do it after the registration?

Thanks
Ant

sorry can not help you with VIC but in QLD you need a engineers cert with a blue plate attached to the car.
the roll cage needs to be padded in the head strike zones as well as other things

Why do you need blue plates? And are the plates the number plate or a seperate plate?
Im gona have padding in contact zones standard and will be getting an engineers cert at least for the knowledge when a copper pulls me up.

A blue plate is a modification plate attached to the vehicle to certify the modifications are engineer approved.

In Victoria you need a VASS certificate

Thanks for that Hellbus. So as long as the roll cage is properly constructed and sound i should be able to get the VASS cert, and having that, the registration should go fine? Excellent.

Thanks for the info
