Evening all!!!
Just after info really. General banter..........
I have some low back fiberglass seats in my manx. They need covers. Now do I go down the line of getting covers made up!, or what seats have others
fitted into their manx's?
Any pics and tips appreciated.
I kinda like the low fiberglass seats and they aren't that uncomfortable. Plus they still run on standard runners.
But sometimes think soem highback modern seats might just be the go.
So what have you's got in your buggies. And good and bad points about them.
Any pics to get a mind impression always helps.
If anyone has the same style seats as mine currently, has anyone had covers made up for em and where does em and a rough price be much
appreciated.............
Thanks guys and gurls much appreciated.
Matt..............................
I put a pair of Datsun 260Z seats in my buggy. They are narrow at the runners (19 inches) and will fit nicely towards the rear and be low to the
floor. They hinge forward to give access to the rear, are high backed, well padded and comfortable. They are very expensive to re-upholster, so get
good ones.
I have 280Z seats on Ford Falcon runners in my Manx SR.
Datsun 240Z seats are a bit less comfortable.
Beard seats are a very common type to fit to buggies.
Alternatively, you can get nice well padded inserts for hard fibreglass seats. Go to the car parts places like Auto One for that sort of thing. I have
no idea of prices. People who race buggies will know what you want.
I have the low fibreglass seats that you have and my mum made the covers (aaahhh!) but CVD have new covers on their website.

Hmm...i wouldn't reccoment low back seats in any application..they just don't give the support and are not as safe as high backs. I had fibreglass
high back seats in my buggy and they were good in the way that when you hose out your buggy they were easy to clean. I changed to more modern cloth
seats only for the comfort as a long drive is always in order if going anywhere around here so comfort ruled in a compromise to functionality of
having cloth type seats in an "offroad" open car.......I wouldn't go back to the fibreglass ones....comfort rules !!!!

I use the rails/mounting kit that came with the seats and they are mounted to 40mmx5mm angle which is welded to the tunnel and the lift kit. Any performance shop should be able to sell you slip on covers.I got my fiberglass seats covers from one, RCI ones from memory...
my buggy has a pair of seats from Ebay, 300 the pair, only 1 in at the moment tho.
Used the seat runners that came with the seats with a stenghting bar undernear works great.
The only problem was they were a bit thin for my larger exterior, but a bit of modification and they are now fine.
