A couple of years ago I had the pleasure at Stockton of riding in a turbo'd 1600. It was an experience I'd never quite forgotten with an amazing
power to weight ratio of this manx bathtub on steroids. It was an engineering experiment where he was seeing just how long a stock 1600 would live
under extreme boost in sand. I don't know how long it actually lived for.
I think his name was Michael but I'm not really sure. I have photos somewhere. It's been a while. Really nice bloke and of course loved not only
VW's but Turbo's as well.
What ever happen to his experiment and him?
