My last rego papers had my J&S as a model OOCAR now there is nothing under the model. I asked at RTA if they could put the OOCAR back on as this signified that it was a modified VW. They said they dont use these types of descriptions any more and that it should be covered by the modifications at the bottom of the papers. I said that in 1971 there was no modification papers etc required when it was first registred. At least the weight of 530kgs is correct. Anyone any Ideas?:jesus
my model states UNK, i got NFI wat that means
UNK= unknown:beer
thats what i was saying to every1 jus 2 b a smart ass, so is it actaully unknown? do you think i can get away with other mods without getting it engineered?
if you have original plates or pics of the car that can trace the rego you will be fine.
Whats another modification....
I'd go ahead....
I don't believe anyone will look into it....
everyone knows the Buggies were hand made....
and everyone is probably a little different..
Lee
when you get engineered doesnt it state every mod that was done at the time of rego that they specifically passed
The RTA have a model J&S in the system if you can get a helpful worker to look it up and change it.

Hey Stacy B your post...when you get engineered doesnt it state every mod that was done at the time of rego that they specifically passed .... I the early 70,s you did not need an engineers certificate. So there are no modifications on rego papers. Danny
Have had several buggies go through NSW rego now.
RTA up the sticks must be a little more helpfull up in the sticks mark.
Had a manx with papers registered as
Make: Meyers
Model: Manx
got rego papers back and they said model unknown
the next year it was registered as a 67 sedan
argued black and blue but they wouldn't change it cause RTA has no records of Meyers manx, Manx, Roadster or J&S, Astrum or Glitterbug
had a J&S go through as a unknown to after its papers stated roadster on the papers.
RTA is just F#*ked up
true cougerbeachbuggy i didnt think about that good catch
