For those that no nothing of the event please see event details at either the BLB site or Manx Club site or for any further questions ring Eileen and
myself on 0411556727 or 0738245539 Andrew
I'll be there.....where is everyone camping? Is there anybody already up there?
I'd be going but it's a long walk.
So I'll probably spend the weekend working on my buggy instead.
As much as I'd hoped, It's not going to finish itself.
I'll be there:bounce:bounce:bounce.I'm leaving Thursday night to be there on the Friday night.Im staying at a motel to try and recover from the long
drive......and most likely to dry out Can anyone tell the rain to
&^($ off??
See you there. I'll be the old fat guy stuck
in the seat of his buggy:puke
I'll be there. Going up late Friday, coming back Sunday. Will be staying at the same motel as Mick cos I couldn't be stuffed camping in the rain, in
sand, for 2 nights
Andrew, are you taking your big VW tent up with you?
I have to work at 3pm but I'll pop over Saturday. Last weekend I passed three buggies going along Gympie Terrace in Noosaville so I expect a few may be up the beach already. Wouldn't have liked camping over North shore last night, we had a huge storm rattle through!!
Well hopefully if there has been rain up there the sand wont be too dry and powdery :thumb
Well hopefully the weather is going to clear up but even if it doesn't we'll still be going and yes we are bringing up our new toy/bed/kombi and my old manx so even if it turns bad i'd have to be sitting in 5ft water befor we get wet.
I'll be getting to the Beach around 7am, if you guys leave at the posted time , you'll get to the beach pretty close to high tide.

"Leisha Track
Erosion on northern end hazardous.
Take extreme caution. High clearance
vehicles should only attempt to
access .Aim to cross at low tide.
Toilets are closed temporarily."
Isnt that always the case?? It seems there is always a huge dropoff when we go there.......
dunno. It says the toilets there are closed because you can't walk to them (due to erosion), so it must be quite bad. Most reports I can find say there isn't much left of rainbow beach to get around at all.
Last week we took the Delica over the Leisha track and that doesn't have huge ground clearance but didn't have any problems and the track didn't seem any different from any other time I've been over it but just a word of warning- there are are millions of 4wds over there at the moment as is usual for this time of year and the police are out in numbers and stopping everyone and breathalysing them.
Since I'm not going can 1 of the Manx Club members please do up a trip report for the Manx Club.
We'll make it worth your while
You'll have to get someone else to write the report, I only saw the others Saturday arvo. Brad had some issues and will have a short sad story to
tell. Mick H will have a longer sad story to tell.
My pics are here;
http://www.manxgallery.org/gallery/beach07
I'm sure others will add theirs there as well.
Most of my photos are of my car, as I only saw the other guys for a while on Saturday. I came back home along Cooloola Way, and stopped in at Harry's
Hut.
Here's some pics;
Meegan playing on the dunes Friday night at sunset
Saturday gathering
emergency repairs at Rainbow
Rainbow Saturday arvo / sunset
Sunday, going home Cooloola way, Harrys Hut and Boreen Pt.
I like that photo of the sunset and car very cool....
I'll write a trip report....
Jen and I went to the Beach ..... my Baja broke and got left on the hard stuff. Due to the kindness of other Buggy / Baja people though we had a great
weekend even without a going vehicle .. I even got a tow all the way back to Samford ....
Now the Baja is in the emergency room and the Motec Diag Screen is humbing through the logs ...
Full trip report will be up on the website soon...
A great big Thanks to all those who helped me out needs to go out to all who attended now though ...
Cheers and I owe you all a great big favour .... Tratty in particular who took my poor clean Baja all the way home again ...
Bugga....perhaps next time we should just go and not tell our cars whats going on...
I think so ...
Well after doing some sniffing aroound in my engine bay the problem has been located and it seems the correct decision was made to leave the Baja and
get on with the weekend.
Cause of issue - it seems my cam belt has a few teeth missing ..... hopefully it hasn't resulted in any other damage...
So we all carry spare fan belts where was your cam belt hehehehehe
And to think we where blaming that pristine spagetti system

Nice cam belt Hopefully it died of old age, and not because a cam
seized or anything weird (I think some of those EJ20T heads had oiling issues).
