Front End Fun
Mentat - April 12th, 2007 at 06:31 PM

Slowly but surely putting my (not so) recently aquired baja back into a semi-roadworthy state, Road testing it, I hear a strange noise coming from the front at full lock, checking it while stationary revealed the following.

Pictures are of the passenger side front wheel.

Straight Ahead.;

Hard right;

Is there a bump-stop or something of the sort missing, I've had very limited experience with beetle suspension, so any help/advice given would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
- Adam

There should be 'stops' near your steering box

Fit rubber bump stops,(it's missing from that side) and adjust the stops at the steering box to not allow the tyre to contact the suspension at full lock, both ways.

could this be caused by the wrong rims?, I'll check the stops by the steering box tommorow, never even occured to me to look there, thanks!.

if what shailulud doesnt work (it should) try adjusting the nut that holds the wheel ;) turn it till it rubs then back off a 16th or so:lol::lol::lol:
