If you're interested in coming along on the 20th Jan let me know. We have some maps and a GPS, so going out for a play.
Anyone welcome to come along.
oh man im away on holidays from the 19th
That's a Sunday isn't it?
I'll be keen if I don't have any other commitments. I could try and see how my memory is with the tracks.
Did you end up buying one of the big maps, or are you working off the trip guides I scanned?
Just the scans for the moment.....someone who's been before would be great though...
I might even be able to make that. I am guessing you are all driving VW's
Nah, I think my Brother Inlaw is coming in a suzuki....so you can bring the cruiser if you want.
I've tried to get this up as a Manx Club run, but not having too much success
Can't go, I'm working
OK, the plan is to meet 9:00AM Sunday 20th January outside or near the Dayboro pub (you'll see us). We will wait until 9:10AM for any stragglers then
head off into the forestry for a play, stopping somewhere for morning tea / lunch so we can chat about how good we are etc, so pack some food. I
don't know how long we'll be in there or what we'll see as I've never been. Open to all and everyone and all types of off road vehicles, the more
the merrier. If you've got a UHF bring it along so the vehicles can stay in contact with each other.
Have I forgotten anything 11CAB?
With all this rain we've had.....dont forget your recovery gear.......
How about we use channel 23....that way if anyone catches up they can call us.
OK, UHF channel 23 it is.

Anybody got a spare seat
OK, this is now on the Manx Club website as a club run, so if you have your buggy on club rego, then bring it out.
Thanks Brad
I would have liked to come to this event (albeit in my Hilux) but unfortunately I"m doing a 3 day tour to Fraser on that weekend. Maybe next time.....

Thanks Brad
Does That mean i'vv got push too when we get stuck
Only if you want to get home.....
Here's the start point
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&safe=off&ie=UTF8&q=hotel&...
I recommend that we change the meeting point. That google map is showing the pub in the wrong place. The pub also has minimal street parking so
wouldn't be a very good place to meet.
I reckon the park where Mt Samson Rd crosses the North Pine River would be a good spot

I think the park is called apex park (or it used to be). You won't miss the north pine river, after you cross it just turn off the road to the right
into the park. These pics are from the park, there is a little offroading to be had there to warm up and wait for others;

Here's some old pics starting at the Park, and continuing into Mt Mee;

Here's some old Mt Mee pics (it can be quite dusty);

You don't need a permit to get into Mt Mee anymore. There are 2 good swimming holes, Diana's bath and rocky hole. There is also a very good lookout.
Most tracks are easy dirt roads. Some of the harder tracks are between the Dayboro end entrances and Mt Mee itself.
Well the meeting point is already up on the manx club site, so I say don't change it, you'll just confuse everybody. It also says at or near the Dayboro pub. There's plenty of room in Dayboro to park a few buggies, but if you guys want to change it, go for it.
I don't think what's on the manxclub site matters much. That can be changes easily. Most people that are going will check this forum anyway.
When I go past the pub on a Sunday morning for a ride up Mt Mee the pub usually has lots of bikes and large 4wds out the front. Although since I moved
I now ride around the top of the dam and don't actually go past the pub to get to Mt Mee so haven't been past recently.
Thats easy, if we meet at Wes' point at 8.45am, then meet at or near the pub at 9am, you can choose where you want to join in.
My Mobile is 0406 990 905 so you can call me if you miss us.
We'll just meet at the pub. Then I can go the top way around the dam if I like.
Here is the actual location of the Dayboro Crown Hotel;

the impending rain may cause some problems;
Access to State forest and forest reserve roads is not permitted in wet weather or where vehicle tracks sink into the road more than 2cm.
http://203.9.184.225/parks_and_forests/find_a_park_or_forest/mount_mee_state_forest_and_forest_reserve/
and
Flooded roads restrict access to Mount Mee
Both 4WD & convential vehicle access to Mount Mee Forest Reserve is either not possible or not recommended for the next 48 hrs, due to high
rainfall and numerous flooded creeks & causeways in the greater area.
Access to the Archer campground is not possible from Woodford either, due to flooding on Rasmussen Road.

So how's the beach looking?!?!?!
We cant have two offroad trips cancelled within weeks of each other.....doesnt anyone know we're in a Drought.....
man, thats gotta suck.
i was relying on your mt mee pics Mr Nuts to feed my habit after the calling off of the rainbow cooloola run.....
So when are you making the final call Graham
We'll see how things are on Sat
