just lookign for an idea of what everyone runs shock wise?
this is for the scouts budget build so although i know im goign to hear about people running FOX shocks and other big brand stuff im interested in
standard ones?
anyone know some that fit?
Kyb's are a good upgrade,I think $300 a set,the race guys use Koni adjustables,hd Bilsteins.go on eshocks.com u can get them alot cheaper then here.
On my Baja I run Bilsteins on the back & KYB's up front. Bilsteins have more rebound which makes them more suitable for the back. I originally had Bilsteins up front but too much compression dampening made the front too harsh, so went for the KYB's. Much better. Paul
Have no idea. Were on Al when I bought him but was thinking of going to coil overs. To be honest have no idea of what is best for a baja so am interested in this thread.
i run munroe gt gas shocks on my bug and manx, at about $130 a pair i think they are a good budget shocker
I use Monroe GT Gas as well and they've always served me well, on and off road.
cofap oils - bog standard n will do the job up front
I won't recommend Monroe, ok on the rear but personally, way too heavy in the valving for the front, and questionable longevety IMO. For street/off
road and std mounts, budget; I'd go KYB, could get away with Boge HD for a better quality ride at similar cost. Deluxe I'd go Bilistien ( they are
fine on the front too if you get the correct shock) they are better than Koni's when it comes to any dirt/offroad work.
Yes, I have some Fox for my own car, but no testing yet and mine are not std fitment, but there are stock replacements available. They are made in
China so make up your own mind. Kings are US I believe , and similar in design, but not sure if they do std fittment.
I got the Fox's for very cheap, so I thought I'd give them a go....
So far (no driving yet ) the valving feels great.
so are they all just stock numbers or are they made for a higher lift ive also have to get some shocks but dont want to get the wrong ones anybody
with part numbers and brand woul be awesome or a site with a list
cheers
