Back after many years new rat

Its a sad looking through the old posts from 2007 ish when things were pumping vw wise.
a lot of people have moved on ?
oh well !!
Ive found a new rat to bring back to life..

very similiar to a rat a friend of mine found in Eustice in NSW...a 1961 50/50 model.

It's a good find. I find it amazing- there is still VW stuff to learn. Your car has all Oval stuff under the bonnet(fuel tank,brake fluid pot, infuse holder) but has no semaphores. It also has the later flasher switch. Pretty sure the cable operated fuel gauge was always an accessory.An Auntie of mine bought a 58 brand new and it had all the Oval features( including semaphores) but had the big back window. She had indicator lights fitted soon after purchasing it.It's in the Birdwood Motor museum now.Well done.

Going stock is my decision for the moment found a 36 hp being sorted now, got the pan sorted too. stay tuned
