Yes.
That way it will be on the road and you can enjoy it.
It can always be restored at a later date.
Get out there and drive the thing thats what it was made for.

I have chosen to restore mine and it has been in the shed for 3 years and will not be on the road for at least 6 months.

I wish I had ratted mine as I have lost 3 years driving pleasure.

Just my opinion

Good Luck
Dave

Rat, as long as you stop any further decay!

Doug Sweetman - January 7th, 2004 at 04:37 PM

I agree. Cut out any major rust, ensure no more will form and then enjoy :)

VWFOOL - January 7th, 2004 at 04:37 PM

hey rhys
i definetly think just do the work needed to get it registered, then drive it as is. the paint looks great, its not all rusty or anything on the outside, just that bit of floor near the door like i showed u in the pic, so there should b no hassles with the rta. it'll make a cool rat bus. if u want some bigger pics of it just email me and i will send them thru, not sure how long it is till ur coming to pick it up...

go rat....
my t3 is ratty as hell but i'm still cruisin in it... resto is happening slowly and odd things done here and there but realistically it wouldn't have been done any quicker if it had been off the road

Hey dude
I'm a friend of James and have seen the car first hand. Infact i hit James up to sell it last year and he wouldn't part with it.
i had the same planes with it RAT LOOK RAT LOOK RAT LOOK. Sure you could make it nice and shinny but won't have the charactor as the rat look has.
How will the transport company get it. He has told you it has no rear wheels hasn't he.

kombi_kid - January 10th, 2004 at 08:04 AM
