It's just a big bore 356 single cam engine. I don't think there was a factory supercharged 356 engine.

the fastest 356 over the 1/4 mile in the world in ultra vw mag i think. very cool pre a 356 he has done a great job not a 4 banger quad motor though give it stick son go the luft

The 356 has featured twice in Ultra VW. Issue April 05 and May (?) 05
Apperently a WW2 fighter pilot (H. Huckenbein) own it and still has the ole war paint colours on it. Use to have a 4 cam motor in it but it died many years ago. Type 1 motor 2176cc, with 200bhp.
Start of the year quarter mile times were 12.86-second ET.

And the story about the WW2 fighter pilot was just that a story.
Sorry I wanted to belive it to but in the follow up artical they had to explain away the mith as they were getting to much shit for it.
