woah i gotta come and see this beast more often steve.
keep up the good work... not long now eh? get some pictures of the interior ie the dash
Nice one
To be honest, being a super I really didn't think that this would work when I first saw it in an earlier post.
But hats off to you dude, that is going to look damn great.
Wow! Struts!
looks great greedy...keep up the good work
Are they mini front fenders over the rear-top of the front tyre?
Do they go up with the wheel when the suspension springs and the car bounces?
If so, good job complying with the adrs mate, cause that never crossed my mind (the method u did that is).
Did you buy em as a rod kit or did you make em?
Congrats mate, that is champ. Its incredible how after so many years of existance, no one ever gets bord of the beetle and someone always finds
something new and cool to do with em. Sad that they stopped production.
the front fenders are home made and are fitted to the bottom of the strut so that they go up and down with the suspension and the head lights are 5 inch with high and low beam and they bolt in to wire holes where the headlight were no drilling and i'm using motorbike blinkers bolting into one of the bumper bolt holes i will take a few more snaps if ya want close ups of above the lifhta are now fitted looks good
Yeah, some close up pics would be great mate, thanks. Be good to see how you fabricated it. Very nice conversion.
early idea wife vetoed it
this car was a axe vert that was off to the tip has all papers for the cut job and has passed first eng
i rolled the sides where the running boards went by using 3 round timbers and a rope i roped 2 together put the metal on than stood the third roll on
top and jumped i could ajust the the depth of roll by shorting the rope or lenghing it
the dash was mearly cut and rearanged using all the bits and tacking them in and than padding the dash
there is no glass in the doors and no outside handles also the air intake for the motor is now through the rear parcel shelf with a duch fitted no
more air cooling problems and now i have a place to fit the cooler doing away with the factory one allowing better no 3 cooling
Nice going mate. Thanks for the pics too.
Fancy that thing originally going to the tip. At least u saved it.
REAR HOLES IN GUARD FOE HIDDEN LIGHTS
FRONT WITH LIGHTS FITTED
ROLLED UNDER SIDES
looking good steve ,cant wait to go for a ride in her:thumb
if all goes well ya can take her for a plast at the shootout
well done man awesome
my turn first pod i have dibs already
i must point out that this rod is being built along the lines of the old style all money being put into safty brakes SUSPENSION ETC ALL THE BODY WORK
IS DONE AT HOME USING WHAT EVER IS NEAR AND WORKS FOR ME IT'S NOT A SHOW CAR BUT WILL BE ONGOING FOREVER AS IDEAS CHANGE AND THATS THE BEAUTY OF IT I
BUILD IT FOR ME NOT ANYONE ELSE SO I SUPPOSE THERE WILLBE THE I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT BIFFERENT
AND I SAY IF YOU BUILD ONE THAN YOU CAN
OLD RODS RULE
this is wacky. i love it! are you frenching the taillights?
bit more done
