Ive only ever done vector (computer) style pinstrips (Never actually used a brush!).
But the way I do it is with a general idea of what I want and where its gonna fit...
Decide my colours (no more than two), start with a pencil and apply a vertical (with a curve obviously) path of two, then mirror it. Continue until you have the basic lines mapped, then hit it with the tools.....I always work from side to side....Thats my way, others may have a different approach.
Here's some quickies Ive run off....I find it EZR to do it this way... One day I will get my hands on some brushes and try it for real...For now though, its practice, practice, practice...On the Mac!
