These two are owned by two brothers, who are both twins :) a bit of useless trivia for you.

VWFOOL - April 24th, 2006 at 10:36 AM

id like to see the early one with bags too

Liam_81 - April 24th, 2006 at 11:23 AM

well, no doubt you will see it on bags down the track. He built the bug for a daily, this is his other car.

Hertz - April 24th, 2006 at 09:54 PM

those mini trucks make me wanna puke.

VWFOOL - April 24th, 2006 at 10:28 PM

that much air under a bagged car makes me wanna puke

Liam_81 - April 25th, 2006 at 10:05 AM

LOL, minitruck haters :( it is a fair tidy minitruck. It has caddy lights in the rear. Shaved everything, recently suicided rear doors and a body drop in the works to get ride of that 'air'... so no puking!

better pick of it laying out here...

But each to their own i guess.

VWFOOL - April 25th, 2006 at 10:52 AM

im talking about the bug, is that its lowest setting?

kustomkool - April 25th, 2006 at 12:35 PM

still to high...

Liam_81 - April 25th, 2006 at 05:03 PM

oh sorry, my bad. Yeah, i am guessing its the lowest setting, his bro wouldn't let him leave it parked aired up.

BenettonVW - April 25th, 2006 at 06:40 PM

Whats with the bad vibes about those bagged rides? Anything that has bags is woody material for me..

I reckon that things alright Liam.. No hater here!! :thumb

humpty - April 25th, 2006 at 10:12 PM

Ditto..... Bags or no.... It dont matter to me none..... we all want to lay frame(head), so lets be realistic here.... It takes time, money and the willingness to trash your car..... My Rag sits on the ground now.... But it aint bagged..... When its done and on the road, it still wont have bags.....That will come later.....But when it does, it will be the first truely independant, bagged bug in Oz, that will be legal, safe and not run on the shock mounts...... Keep it real guys.... the more the merrier.... Haters stay home....

Craig Torrens - April 25th, 2006 at 10:40 PM

Working on it as we speak.....

Liam_81 - April 26th, 2006 at 05:34 PM

fuk yeah, any progress picks you can sneak me?

humpty - April 26th, 2006 at 08:03 PM

I sent the design to JJ @ KCW to see what he thinks, but I'll be working on the concept of the next few weeks..... Hope to actually make the beam in the mid year break from uni..... As soon at I have the beam built, I'll be posting on AVD.... But if JJ builds it before me, Im sure he'll post some shots on his forum.... Unfortunately your gonna have to wait.....

VWFOOL - April 26th, 2006 at 08:16 PM

nice work man i look forward to the results

:( i hate waiting... sounds like its going to be VERY worth it though.

What sort of stance are you thinking it will have when done? What sort of bags, lines and valves will you be running? Any idea's on tank mounting? up front or in the back? Sick of me asking questions?

humpty - April 26th, 2006 at 09:20 PM

The design will use a LP bug type beam. The TIII version will run air sleeves on the front of the beam, working on the top torsion tube with either an internal swaybar or threaded link in the bottom tube. On the TI deal, it will run 5" bags on the back of the beam, working on the bottom torsion tube with either an internal swaybar or threaded link in the top tube. It will be truely independant and will still run shocks and shock towers. With towers it will be limited to a 4" narrowed beam. The link for the bag will be adjustable, so the beam can be assembled in one of 2 ways. It can be set to lift the car, 4x4 style or lower the car dragin' style. You'll have to wait fot the prototype for more details.....

Liam_81 - April 27th, 2006 at 08:34 AM

nice, so are you thinking about chucking some drag blocks on her when its all done and sparkin her down the freeway. Sounds like a good set-up with some good lift. Have you thought about the tank and compressor set up? I had a DC5000 electric compressor for mine which filled a 9 gal tank, took a while to fill and could only give it a few good hits (i had 3/8 lines and valves) before i ran out of air. If i am ever going to ride on air again, i would be getting a multiple compressor set up.

DRA93N - April 27th, 2006 at 05:15 PM

I was looking at bagging my early bug in the future, but the cost of bags and all the things to make it go up & down is 5 times the amount of my car, and I have another project under way and also my other ride needing attention after a weekend of havoc!!
But also have been looking into body dropping the bug along with a roof chop, but this wont happen untill my other project is on the road.
Cheers for the comment about my minitruck though...........
