If you don"t like "Rats", why look in this section of the forum anyway? Maybe there needs to be another section on AVD for all the losers who only like shiney paint jobs so they can check themselves out in their reflections?

I completely agree! No glossy paintwork for me!
I'm happy to drive my Beetle, matt paintwork, no bumpers (And by the way, I have a front end intrusion bar with a similar setup to type 3's behind the front apron, I wouldn't feel safe without some sort of bumpers either Bob!!!!) and ratty looking, and I love seeing other ratty cars.
We have our own opinions of beauty, some drive cars with rust, some drive cars with rear quarter panels stoved in, some drive cars that are even better than new.
All of us think that our own cars are perfect... you know, that's why they're yours!
I think you might be on to something there Ash, a new forum for shauvanists with clear coats on their paintwork!
