Have just scored a 72 Squareback that has fresh bright white paint (no professional job, runs and patchy). Lov'n the rat look, will be lowering soon,
but what to do about the new paint?
Was thinking of paint stripping the whole thing, I know, it sound drastic???any advise
find out if its acrylic, house paint or 2 pac and some pics will help ,sounds cool ,
I dunno, can you get away with sanding it to knock off the gloss? Add some whitewalls and pinstriping and cruise it. Dont make too much work for yourself! Its a rat, doesnt matter if its a bit dodgey!
Yeah right on! Keep the work to a minumin. I think thats the go, just knock the shine off and drop it. Have just installed a red lowback interior,
looks sweet. Will post some pics up soon.
Thanks guys
Just be careful to just sand it enough to take the gloss off. If you expose the primer underneath it'll give it heaps of patina, but also make it
more prone to rust (the primer is porous).
I LOVE red interiors, looks great with white paint.
Dont think I have to worry about the primer under neith, I tried sanding a bit back, looks like it has had many a spray, one on top of the other.
Just got my 1835 running in it today, Wow she really move along. Going for my Blue slip tommorrow morning, fingers crossed.
Also saw a WRX today, white with flat gold mags, thought the wagen would look aswome if I could find a set that would fit. Na stuff it, might get a
ford stud pattern conversion and buy a set of old 12 slots, yeah thats the way to go, ha ha
