Sweet Col!!
Very frikken nice as always Col !!!
Hi, who came 1st, 2nd, 3rd ?
Are you happy with the way the car handled ?
So I still can,t get any official time sheets so I will try my memory.
Last Sunday started with a very cold morning and just didn,t get much warmer all day, I reckon 14 degrees probably was the top temp, so needless to
say track surface temp was cold and traction was minimal.
We all had a total of 6 timed runs and everyone enjoyed the close hard racing, with Heath and Christine making a welcome return to Hillclimb
Racing.
Championship points leader in the Gemini/Apollo/Toyota, Ashley Birks broke his gearbox on the first run so he changed cars and double entered with his
mate Pat Griffiths in his Torana/Apollo/Toyota.
With the track being super cold and very slippery tyre pressure and tyre condition was critical. Heath managed to get all these things right as well
as a car setup change halfway through the day to come out on top with a quick time.
Memory only times are
1st in class Heath 36.03
2nd in class Pat (Torana) 36.90
3rd in class Christine 37.05
4th in class Col 37.22
Sorry in can,t remember Glens best time or any other times.
Glen and myself allways pit together and help each other out. We both struggled all day trying to get front and rear traction.
We both tried pressure and setup changes all day but just could not get it right. ( 5 year old tyres didn,t help)
Next round is at Grafton on the June long weekend.
I have a few vids and photo,s to post over the next few days.
