Great driving vid (as usual) from Rene

I like the widened rear guards, very nicely done :tu:

dunno but dave knows a bit about his engine I think he mentioned that it was his china engine.

The China Black had some Ultra Wedgeport head issues, namely there were cracks on all the exhaust ports approx 8mm under the seat.
Lasted 2 1/2 years of clackety clacking.
Not worth fixing, so, a little porting and on with some old street eliminators.
The above footage is with a 2332cc, 44 x 38 wedge port , 10.4 comp, twin 48 IDF motor.
Could go around austrlia with it.
Idles like a standard 36hp, does 175hp on engine dyno, runs out of puff at 5,900 rpm, thats when another gear is selected.
It does'nt fall off power badly at that rev so 6800 can be touched without loosing to much efficiency.
The aim is to keep the noisy old school ,air cooled, flag flying proudly amoungst the rest.
Regards Rene'

Nice going, Rene.:tu:

Thanks for the 'ignition advice', by the way......you were spot-on. Fitted a Crane HI-6, and No.8 Beetle is now running well - 1m 12.6 at W.P.

Cheers, Greg
