Hi All,
Last year at the VW Nationals I was the only Open Wheeler competing at the sprints at Goulburn on Saturday. While this was fantastic test'n'tune
time for me personally, one Fvee on the track for five laps is not much of a spectacle.
So a call goes out - Fvees, buggies or other open tops - anyone planning on running? My preference is to run the Vee, but if I am the only one I'll
have to bring a VW tin top (oh the horror).
Cheers
Craig
ps Before the desktop racers get on board, CAMS will not permit an open wheeler to compete with cars - some drivers have a habit of not checking
mirrors and running over or into people!
I suppose I could trot out the 1959 Cooper Porsche.......but what about No.8 Beetle?
Just shared this on hfvaa's Facebook page.

I think there would be a line up to Drive No.8
Last year was a bummer. The dates clashed with other events the vees were going to. I've given them advanced warning.
First car entered in the sprint is an open wheeler. Somewhat quicker than a Vee but we're on the way.
Looks a bit like a Jedi, Chris....what is it ?
Are entry forms available? I'd like one please, if they are.
Cheers, Greg
Yeah Jedi. One of two that he owns. This is the 2nd one recently built for supersprints. His other one holds the Formula Libra 0-1300 record at
Huntley at around 20.93 seconds.
Entries are open... see my next post shortly.
Was at Wakefield last weekend, helping a mate out with his race car. The Formula Vees were on the calander.
The Vees provided the most exciting racing of the weekend! A big field, plenty of overtaking and drama, it was perfect!
A collection of Vees running around at the National's would be brillant!
A supersprint should not be about racing, overtaking, or drama.....or so they say.

I reckon we are going pretty good. 5 events down and only one silly buggar has damaged his car, and only his car, no collateral damage. And only 1 or
2 people have been spoken to about doing the wrong thing.
Touching every bit of wood I can find.

Its not a race so people dont go dive bombing into corners. All the overtaking is done on the straights so its all good. The cars are arranged fastest to slowest so typically there isnt a lot of overtaking anyway.
Maybe a email to the NSW fvee club to attract some numbers.
have done that. Along with every other NSW Car Club I think might be local enough/interested enough to bring an entry.
Awsome!
Didnt see your Fvee there Craig?
Craig was entered but had mechanical problems leading up to the event
