Rears I bought from Richard Holzl and the fronts I bought from the States..Cant remember where but can find reciept.Front Bilsteins come with a threaded top, so you will need 2x kits that screw on top with the bushes/washers and nyloc nuts.

Thats what I am after but the standard stuff that I have doesnt work with the bilsteins i got fom ESHOCKS. They have a very short thread on the rod like 15mm long with a very small perch. On their site it says to use the standard vw mount kit, where did you get yours from? Thanks in advance.

The standard top off cofap type shock etc will fit. You do not use the plastic surround and you need to cut the standard rubber bump stop you have on the car now or buy with the kit. Tooley Imports Hornsby will be able to help.

try a company called Autocraft in Melbourne. They should have them. I got mine from Richard Holtz about two years ago. rides great.

Yes, the standard VW front shock absorbers had only a very short shaft and thread, so You needed the fitting kit to fit them.
I eventually found a fitting kit a few years ago and fitted them with the new shocks I had...
The bump rubber on one split after about 40 klms...???

someone's bright idea?? to save designing a new rubber bump stop??

I did have Non VW front shocks on for many years, and just used rubbers I had, or modified....
I collected many different shock rubbers over the years.. including Mitsubishi ones..
[Monroe Wylie Aussie made shocks with long "normal" shanks/shafts... and used rear CE Lancer shock rubbers for the bump stop [from memory]]
