Sunday the 8th of Feb will see Marulan host round 1 of the NSW Hillclimb Champs.
After a intense Aust Champs my little car got a big rest and then a few suspension mods for this years racing.
Glenn Torrens and myself have entered the event to be held at the Marulan Driver Training Centre. With this being a new venue and no practice before
hand it will be interesting to try and get a feel for the new track.
Cheers Col
its very tight and technical but good fun, make sure your car complies with noise regs as he had a few issues with local council and local residents
Best of luck guys. Go kick some butt. Just wish I was there hooning with you but unfortunately cant. I hear there are only 41 entries for the event which is a shame.
Good luck guy's
Report to come.
Cheers Col
Good luck col,by the way your car looks shit hot!!
It,s a long tow from Tamworth but worth the drive.
It was a hot day at the Marulan Driver Training Centre last Sunday. Glen Torrens and myself arrived at 7pm, unloaded then had brekky GT style.
The track looked good, a slow section to begin with then it opens up onto the circuit proper. There was a bit of interest around the two Beetles, not
sure if the locals had ever seen quick little Bugs, that soon changed
We all had 5 official timed runs, with 1 practice at the start of the day, which was handy considering no-one had ever raced there before.
I had 3 runs then decided to adjust my tyre pressures, wrong move Col. I went slower, never mind it,s all about learning and fun. Final times were,
Col 1st in class ftd 39.09 11th outright 4th fastest tin top
Glen 2nd in class ftd 40.57 22nd outright ( a pretty amazing time because GT was running his street motor not his hillclimb motor)
Next round is Bathurst in just over 2 weeks. Some more pics and incar footage to come.
Cheers Col
