This weekend Mount Panorama Bathurst hosts round 1, The Esses, and round 2, Mountain Straight hillclimb events. With Glenn away tearing up the salt I,m the only VW entered for the weekend. Weather predictions are for hot and dry days, yepee, just what I wanted in a black car and racesuit.

I wish I could say the car was great and it flew up the mountain but. What a shit weekend. Saturday the car felt off but I put it down to the hot weather, it was 35 degrees.
Still won my class but felt the car was not quiet right, no power!. Sunday morning the ignition barrel decided to collapse, so a dodgy toggle switch and push button was plumbed in.
First run car felt really soft and it missed up the top of the mountain. Missed the second run as I was checking the very hot rocker gear and tappet clearance while talking to Larry, no bothering Larry with phone calls.
Third run made it to the start line, but worse miss and some serious smoke at the top of the mountain again. Mmm, me thinks the engine may be wounded. Will do some simple checking of things this weekend and consult with Larry.
On a brighter note! she is still shiney and black.
