What sort of lap times are people getting from their VW's around here? I'm curious as to how they compare to other cars.
On October 18 2003
Jak did a 2:03.156 around the creek
CT did a 2:03.251 around the creek
The other competitors in the assoc. class:
Audi S3 2:03.959
Audi TT 2:04.89
Nissan GTR 2:06.516 (?????)
Oran Park South
Jak 0:55.92
Rudi 0:51.13
Wakefield Park is my favorite. I did a 1:16.06
You can have a look at the times in more detail at http://www.natsoft.com.au
CT & I are doing 55.8 & 55.9 at Oran Park south & identical 2.03 flat for Eastern Creek, this is on street tyres & full street
registered cars.
Far from the quickest numbers & there are plenty of quicker drivers & cars out there but we still have fun
regards
Jak
oops, CT & I must have posted at exactly the same time, wonder how many tenths of seconds that was dude????
Yep these 2 guys will be able to list the lap times whats about Rudies times do you have them..
Jak do you still have Georges times i sent you a while ago for Eastern Creek.
Yeh Dave, he did a 2.08 for Eastern Creek but I think that u said that was with 2 people in the car (navigator) & Rudy has done a 1:56 I think for
Eastern Creek, curved windscreen would be fantastic for that track

Everyone knows about the legend Paul Zanello Retro, he did a 50 around Oran years ago, so did Richard Hozlz in a full metal & registered street
car, driven to & from the track!
I did the group 7 thing for a few years so don't try & tell about more 'equal' groups.
Having a bunch of MX5 owners protest cause u beat them in a VW, having your trophy taken away because I had non-factory bodywork (the rear wing), I
didn't know MX5's come with full roll cages, slicks & avgas in the tank??...
No thanks, its the Porsche club for me, we just have a Sunday drive, doesn't matter what modifications are done to the car because no-one cares
there. The Porsche guys are in the same vote, they just want a drive on the track, thats the best attitude for me & the organisational skills of
the club are outstanding compared to anywhere else.
Theres also little chance of rubbing door handles with anyone, let alone someone in a datsun 120Y
I'm quite happy to pay the extra fee & be surrounded by porsches all day, depends what your kiks are I guess.
regards
Jak
But Jak, it will be so cool because Retro will be there. What do you reckon?
Mind you he'll probably have his anonymous arse dressed up as a woman.:sandrine
CYA, CT
Wow Richard did a 50 as well, when did he do this ?
What car was it ?
This is the first time I've heard this :jesus
Yeah, I'm with Jak and CT. I much prefer cruisy club days with a vast variety of vehicles having a good time. If I was to do anymore, I'd
buy a race car, get my FIA license and do it full on, but thats a no can do for me. So I'll have fun spending a cruisy sunday with a bunch of
other racing enthusiasts.

"Dak to the Past" was doing 50's around Oran Park & high 50's around Amaroo in a street registered car with no slicks whilst u
were driving in the bush & I was still in nappies.
I've got 3 hours video footage of Richard leading a pack of v8 & rotary sport sedans around Oran & Amaroo park. It also has Paul Zanello
doing the same in the class below that Richard ran.
It looks quite funny seeing a beelte leading the pack with number plates on.
The reason most people don't know any of this is because Richard doesn't walk around with his results on his sleeve, no matter how
impressive they are.
What a legend:thumb
Weird... Where did my reply go:jesus
Was that an oval which Richard used to race?
Cool, so what car was it ?
Love to see a copy of the video, you never get tired of watching car racing :thumb
The only time I've seen Richard race was the same year you watched me at Amaroo. He was in a yellow bug with a 2007cc doing 63's or
62's, not his car though !
The car was a an oval setup similar to CT's, full glass windows, daily driver etc etc, even won the Gene Berg trophy one year as well as having a
baby seat capsule in the back during the working week.
2332cc, IDA's , k-8 etc, 142hp @ the wheels. revved to 8200rpm. go the stroke!
That yellow aero looker was Jergo's, even with only 80hp @ the wheels , Richard got it down to 60 seconds at Amaroo with slicks, not too bad
apparently, for a street car.
That's fantastic:thumb Richard should have no problems getting Alex's and Deiters cars producing the same times.
So we should see 50sec oran park runs easily, especially with the compounds used in the road tyres compared to 15years ago and the cars being the
same/similar.
And 142hp from the 2332cc, this is what Paul will be getting from his V force motor :thumb
Richard should be able to get 120hp no probs then from your motor, with his experience.
So we should see some good action on the track then.
Maybe Richard could have a drive ?
P.S Only 80hp from a twin carbed over 2lt ??? what's the go ?

*cough*
*cough*
try to contain yourself Craig.............
u should try another edit, u get more sincere each time.........
Are they your Kadrons coughing Steve..?
I just want us all to be happy with each others results
P.s. I edited spelling errors, I was that sincere when I originally posted
To see a majority of beetles doing 50 flat at Oran will be fantastic
you guys have nothng on my type3
It would do oran park in about 4 minutes
not fast but I would get to see the fast cars each time they passed me
Not making fun of anyone but myself
I just love to see people who love their VW's
Marc
I have limits in my driving ability, I'd be stoked to do 54's like u, Any faster & I don't think that I could handle it. Must be
frighfully fast doing 50's
Just so u didn't think I was making sh#t up Craig see pic below:thumb
I would never think you would make sh#t up Jak
Wow, 59.08sec for Amaroo with 142hp and a 60sec with a 80hp road car ! I'm not too sure which one is the most impressive ! :jesus
And look.......................no edits
just depends what u get impressed by a guess, both times were many years apart remember. Things change.
I suppose if u can get 100hp at the wheels with some kadrons, a big bore kit & a 284Duration cam with 360thou lift, 142 for a 48ida 2332cc is
possible back in the old days huh Craig....?

I'm just big enough to admit when something I've written is inappropriate,
I think u need to go back to the tech section to sort out all your problems.
Must feel pretty nice & snug up on that bandwagen huh Steve?:kiss
