Yes Glenn it was a great one.

Hat's off and many thanks to Club VW for organising it.

It is a big commercial risk taking a track hire and it was very disappointing to see so few VW spectators! If you want it every year you have to support it!

Don't forget David O'C from SA in his clean street registered fuel injected beetle "Kafer".

A PB of 12.6 not sure of the Mph. An awsome time from a full weight, street car that is NA.

The use of drag slicks stopped him from competing in the Gene Berg catagory.

Does anyone have a list of cars and best times/speeds for the event? People are posting some individual times, but a haven't seen any full results.

I agree that it was the best drags I've been to for the nats. Club vw did a great job organising it and the quality of cars, vw and other, was awesome. My three favs had to be Rod Penrose' beetle, the cal look car with the meg and 48IDA plates from QLD and that wicked toyota wagon with the small block or somthing in it. It wheel standed for the nearly the whole of it's first gear.
well wicked:)

wacked1 - April 19th, 2004 at 09:21 AM

yeah right, go the kombi's

OvalGlen - April 23rd, 2004 at 09:54 PM

vw54, my Oval not going too good at present.
1. I dont think it would have passed scrutineering if they looked under the engine due to oil leak.
2. one gear missing, but good news - the Gearbox is being built for it.
