OK guys... HERE I AM!

You're 1st chick racer on forum!

Im guna need lots of help and tips from you guys... as you may have read im about to get stuck into resto-ing myself a race car. I've become addicted to Motorkhana and Khanacross, whether this is a good thing or a bad thing im not too sure yet! hehehe

I've got it all sorted... I'll just fix and change things as I get the money to do it and then when its completed i'll rego it under 'klub' rego bcos theres no use paying FULL rego and already having a daily driver but only using the race car at club events anyway!... this is all good and well in theory!

I wanna try and do as much of it myself as possible... but i fear that i'll bcome too much! AAAAAAHhhhhhhh... so if i jump on here posting messages of great distress you'll b sympathetic im sure! LOL :P

This next weekend... I'll spend the morning at Klub VW bayside fest and then head out to Willowbank as there is a race day thing out there. Im guna go see wat im gettin myself into... :P havn't sent the license papers off yet! hehehe

Kat come on down to Cruizetime on the 16th may at the parklands showgrounds on the Gold Coast. Dyno and myself will be down their running in the grass events for the third year running(and we have'nt come home without the tropheys yet). If you do come down be sure to come and say hello, we wont be hard to miss being the only buggies amongst 100's of V8'S and you can come for a ride. Andrew

WHen i think of cruise i think of 80 kmph along a country road... having everyone else passing ya and stopping somewhere for a nice lunch n chat b4 cruising home.

I saw a metallic green race car at the Klub VW Bayside FEST, which was a great day guys! CONGRATS to all memebers for their great team work and effort! This green car was stripped inside and just painted black, single drivers seat with fire extinguisher in passanger side and the outside was bootiful wit racing stickers etc on it. So i've figured that i dont hav to do my race car like a show car! :P which is a relief! hehehe I think i'll go with club rego so that i dont have to pay like $600 per yr it'll be like half that, or at least im hoping it will be! :P

Any comments guys... everything is taken into account!

OK... im not sure yet whether i'll have a Baja or a Bug to race in... it'll be whichever has the better body and isn't so disaterious! hehehe

BUT i've been pondering for the last couple weeks since i went and checked him out... HOW AM I GOIN TO PAINT HIM?

I saw at the Klub VW Bayside Fest... a metallic green one and it was nicely painted outside and the inside was just stripped and painted black... which i think its a good idea not to worry TOO much about the inside as it wont b a show car. Was thinking mayb i should paint it red and black, do spots and wateva like a lady bug then i thought OW... maybe not :P (saw a bootiful orange n purple bug at the show too) Then there was the thought that i paint him a base colour like white or black or red and get someone to air brush onto him 'Betty Boops' and im sorta over that idea too... but i'd like him to look nifty... something different... Millie is pretty plain wit her metallic blue n flames so i want something preferably not blue. Saw a funky car sth side of brissy yesterday that was a rich pink/magenta colour, nice paint job with hippie flowers all over the bak end! Was VERY KEWL... sorta not me tho!... Liked the rich pink colour... Maybe he should be rich pink n black n chrome...

Any more ideas guys?!?! just brainstorming at this stage. I'd like him to be pretty neutral bcos they'll be gals AND guys racing him, wouldn't want the guys gettin too intouch with their feminie side! :P

IS there ever a Calendar put out for racin events or anything?
I know that MOST KLUB VW sectors love advertising their events on here and we get to see them, ask Qs and find out more info... but i dont see much racing stuff...

get the calander from johny B. he has the latest cams one for QLD with all possible events highlighted. But try these websites for possible events

Have you joined a CAMS affiliated club yet? Theres a club listing at http://www.cams.com.au.  Go there and find a couple of clubs near you, then email them and find out which would be the best to join for khanacross etc. Most clubs seem to lean towards one form of competition or another. Eg my club is predominately hillclimb, but the one down the road is a motorkhana, rally oriented club. That way you will get the invites to the things you are interested in, you wont need to go looking.

hey boop u could get the beetle/baja primered and then park it at kings beach and put a fence around it....buy about 10 different coloured pressure spray packs from supercheap and charge the local kids a dollar to come and paint your dub .......could turn out either very good or very bad:P

just make sure u mask it all first of course:bounce

well she has the paper work to join a club and get here L2 lisence( the sporting catain gve it all to her), but has to get her arse into gear and do it!!! and the sporting captain is pestering her to do it aswell.

Sorry to burst ya bubble Nick but there is no way im lettin any snotty nose, local, street kid spray paint my car! Im sure HE wouldn't appreciate that! let alone how he's feel being fenced in for is own protection! : LOL :P

And yes i WILL be gettin my license, and joining an affilitated club. THanks for the spur along tho! tomorrow is pay day so all will b sorted then!

Still haven't got a good colour scheme or name for him yet... but i guess that will come wit time...
