there was a lime green type 4 powered super racing down there. It went very hard. I had a few goes but have a preference for autocross now(got down to a 54s in road registered). ( i don't like that finish curve, to many bad memories :( . I alos think there was a KG racing there? (in the 2nd issue of VWMA)

I was at the hillclimb in March, there was only the KG that you see in the mag and a couple of f/vees- but no beetles or other sedans and didnt notice any Countrybuggies going up the hill, am considering building mine up, for that purpose as well as the historic sprints- have been going to those for a while and there are no beetles competing, just the KG and a Baja at Gatton

Stan Pobjoy will be running at Mt Cotton for the QLD championships, one of his customers with a 1916cc KG maybe running as well(the one in the VMA mag) but not 100% sure.

Thanks for the replies. Since I can only go in a straight line, I cannot wait to see some volksies gettin a little sideways!!

Cheers Craig P.

Craig,

I dont know if you have been to the Mt Cotton circuit, but being a bitumen track with plenty of off-camber corners there isnt a great deal of sideways action, unless you have some big horsepower or testicles, as it is not very forgiving and of course going sideways on the bitumen, generally means slower times, funner, but slower.

the green car was running back in 2001 etc.

Hi Buggyboy

I see what you mean about the track being tight and unforgiving, in the thread that Bix posted. By the way thanks for that Bix.
I done a little kart racing and I know a little about taking apexes with the smooth in & fast out routine.
But sideways is entertaining though!! Don't you think ?

Cheers Craig P.

well this is what happens when you hit a little pathc of oil on the finish line of that track

Craig Torrens - May 24th, 2004 at 05:46 PM
