If you have no money, then I wouldn't get into racing.

get into racing but understand that if its a street car you will
a- keep breaking things
b-wear other thing out faster
c-become addicted
d-spend lots of money trying to go faster, which you normally wouldn't spend
Find a local club that is involved in motorsport, probably, motokhana, khanacross, mabye hill climbing (bit more costly) autocross (alos a little more
costly) go to meeting and events, watch learn then, go racing!!
Probably go motokhana, ering first, its cheap and easy and you don't need a fast car, just be willing to buy new sets of tyres more.
sound advice bix
Go bracket racing at the drags!!!
Dan
Yep you'll definatly spend more money and spend less time with your friends, start hanging out at VW shops and drag stips, you'll hock or sell every thing you own to finish your engine, and you'll spend most of your free time locked away in your garage. Or is that just me.
Just work harder and smarter and you can have anythink you want.I worked 3 jobs 7days and i have my toy.Start small and have fun with what you have.JVLRacing
thanks does anyone know of a drift bug? (Jap cult type racing sideways)
? is that really motor sport?
just try and find some local clubs for drift :repuke or other forms of motor sport, cams does a listing.
Race model cars.
I use to spend 7 to 10k$ per year year racing 1/8 scale cars. It is not cheap but doen't hurt physicaly when you hit a fence!
Hi
I use to do a lot of club racing when I was young, I would often stuff something on the weekend and have to catch a train to work the next week.
Buy a vee or a kart instead.

what steve said
thanks i seen the Vees racing on speedweek, Great show id love 2 have a go at it, anyone wanna Let me borrow theres, I promise id give u all the pieces back
You need;
A fire extinguisher.
An 2nd throttle spring.
A helmet.
Basic CAMS license.
Car in reasonable order (not rego though).
The license is the the hardest it, but once you get there it's tops fun. You race against the clock, not other people. You can drive as slow as you
like. You're on dirt so your unlikely to break driveline bits. A set of soft Mud/Snow retreads would be good to start with or you can slide around on
ya street tyres.
I did it in my 67 beetle and the only thing that went wrong was a clogged airfilter (doggy aftermarket taiwanese crap). It was a hoot. The sound of my
new 1641 (with hotdog and meg) echoing through the forrest (at 4500rpm) was AWESOME!

Check my site for some pics and a write up if you want.
hell yeak khancross and autocross are the way to go, normally spend 2 out every 5 sundays sidewasy on dirt somewhere!!!!!
