Road legal semi slicks?
Dannyboy - July 7th, 2004 at 06:59 PM

Is there any tyre company that makes a road legal 6"semi-slick to use on a beetle. I think the height is 28" i'm after , quite a tall tyre , not low profile.

Legally, I would say No...
probably the closest legal tyre would be a wet weather racing tyre...
You have to have tread to pump the water away from the road when its raining.....

Thats safety... and thats all I look at in a tyre....
How it goes in the wet!!!

Forget all the usa well known brands becouse they are to big,but MH in the states has put out a dot tyre for vw's so they can race in sport compact street class. 6,7inch wide by 26 tall .check out cal-look forum . Unless you are making 300 plus horse power 28 is to tall.
