For a racing application, what front end tricks can I look at doing to make the beetle handle well- it is a standard 64 LP beetle- given that it will be historic based I cant go to wild with modifications, though can be lowered etc
You should get dropped spindles so you keep the same suspension travel, and you will want negative camber on the front. Better centre feel and turn

Can you get dropped spindles in Aust ? and would they fit this definition from the Cams manual

and I take it that if drop spindles are employed then you dont have to weld the adjusters in the beams etc.. I am assuming that the dropped spindles
are better than the modified beams ?????
I think Vintage VeeDub Supplie in Sydney has them. Check out the OZ VW business directory above... and you don't have to weld either...

CBB make theirs. Several pairs have been x-rayed and proven to be of excellent quality. They look factory and in the cars I have seen them in they
perform brilliantly.
You don't need to have an adjustable beam as well.

Caster shims - or use a piece of 10mm bar between the lower front beam tube and the chassis head to tilt the beam backward. Gives better steering feel and caster (self-centring) and adds to camber gain on steering turn-in. I think it's legal for your class...?
