Well I had teh chance to visit the Hill Climb on the way through and see a 1916 Powered Beetle kick ass. Only in the prac laps but still beetl the
record.
It was Craig's 1916 and it was Fast ... made the jap crap look pretty slow ..... I was impressed and can even see the attraction .... Judging by the
times the other guys where doing I would say Craig driving may have also had something to do with it ..
How did you guys do on the real day ??
The "real" day went well. I managed to lower the class record by 1 sec and all the beetles performed well in the class.
It's a pity you couldn't have stayed for the racing on Sunday, but was good to catch up on Saturday.
Next round is at Dapto in about 5 weeks..............time to get rid of that dodgy record
[Edited on 11/4/2005 by Craig Torrens]
Well done Craig!! I take it that the development is coming along well!!!!!!!
Good luck at the next event.
Yeah, amazing what you can do with a new set of tyres!!
Has the new tyres solved all of the issues on traction out of corners?
Not all of the issues, need to play with the swaybars.
What class do you compete in now with that supercharger?

That Dapto track,
that's a "horsepower" track,
you won't bet that ol' record
hehe

Which record are you bleeting about? The record was set last year by Col Mayman. It stands at 27.66. Thats the official record, like it or not.
Even if you are talking about the old old record which there was a ONE second possible discrepancy, then you're just wasting oxygen
and KY jelly. I hope you do beat any time that has come before, that way we wont have the annual verbal fartfest.
I have this very firmly held belief that if you have to keep telling people how good you are, then you really dont matter in the grand scheme of
things. If you ARE good, people will notice you, and you wont need to say anything.
As secretary of event and chief timekeeper, pay me $100 and I might make your time 2 seconds quicker.

Hey Craig,
Maybe I might be able to get some of that jam and cream of yours and I might be able to catch you. What do think......?
Nathan
What other cars are in your class????
Is the 626 a turbo, and what volvo does hill climbs?
With all those bugs, you think you would have your own class.

Hey - I nearly bought a 740T before I came to my senses and got a subaru liberty instead !
740Ts fukken hammer when you do em up right. My mate prepares one for a customer (not sure what class he runs in - not hillclimbs) and with a DOHC
head transplant it pushes out almost stupid power and is tough-as
Volvos are great sleepers and 740Ts are cheap these days...
When is the next volvo club meeting...?
What does Fukken hammer really mean, 15 second quater?? Because thats not exactly hammering! A mate of mine got one and did all the work, if it tried
really hard it sort of kept up with a stock wrx....they are sloooooooow! Although everything is relative to what you are used to.
As far as I know, the next event is a motorkhana in June or July.
Dapto is in one week, entries officially close today.
Havent seen yours Craig.
