ROUND 8 NSW HILLCLIMB
Old Pacific Hwy Buladelah (North to South)
Sunday 18.09.05.
Start 9.00am
Entry is either north - buladelah

Come and watch some of the beetle boys (there are a few entered), as well as some other very fast vw powered cars smack some arse at this event. There
are some excellent spectator point all along the 1klm hillclimb.
how long does it take to drive up there?
i'm really keen to come watch you guys again, had a great day at huntley!
it's my b'day that day too....

If you're like me and you like corners you love to see those 35kmph corner approaching signs on the side of the road. I like to go though these
quickly but without going over or touching the lines and keeping the car just inside the speed limit which is usually 70 - 80 kmph.
The above mentioned hillclimb is brilliant. You get let loose on a series of about 4 or 5 of these corners and there's no speed limit, no other
traffic and you can use all the road.
The scary bits are the damp patches that haven't got sun due to the tree cover and the leaf litter. Both can catch you out. If they do don't worry,
there's guard rails and a rock wall to stop you!
That's the one hillclimb I'd do but my car has issues.
Have fun in the race for the title. I understand things are tight at the top.
CYA CT
I drove home from Sawtell that way...
But I can't make it next weekend. Have fun all!

For those of you interested this event should be a real rip snorter with 89 cars entered to do it.
Event starts at 10.00am
Any ideas what time the Class that the dubs rub in will start?
Cheers
SAS

Whats the news? I didnt make it down for a look but have been told that one of the beetles ended up on its lid.
Colin Mayman unfortunately crashed his car...............sideways off the track at full noise.
I wasn't there so hopefully some more news will come from the peolple that were.
Yeah thankfully Colin is OK, not sure of which corner but might have been the last right hander. The beautiful black VW is s sorry sight. A clubman
also hit the Armco at the corner prior and went home missing corners of the car.
It was a slow day with only 3 runs.
Unfortunately Colin had a MASSIVE prang (at the fastest part of the hill) as you can by the photos. Hopefully we’ll see Colin back on the track again some time soon. The good news was beetles filled the first 3 places for state registered competors for imp production 3J club cars (1601-200cc) which was good to see.nn[ Edited on 19/9/2005 by bat69 ]
and another 1
last photo
I'm Glad Colin is okay. That wouldn've been a scary accident.
It's a great looking car and really well turned out. It also has a good engine that makes the numbers. There's a lot of work in that car.
I hope the damage isn't too bad and Colin gets it back on the track soon.
Who won, and who got the places?
CYA CT
Hi,
Had a good talk with Colin on the phone and apart from feeling sore and some glass cuts to one of his hands he is not in too bad a shape. I guess
that shows the importance of safety gear properly fitted to your race car.
Aparently an official said that the car rolled end to end and then over 3 times. Colin had it wound up to 6000 in top gear so was probably going
around 130 - 140 when it happened. One lucky boy.
The car is a wreck, the engine and box appear ok although one of the ida`s took a hit and broke a manifold. The rest of the stuff is mainly bent
or twisted. He is going to strip it down and check each piece as he takes it off.
At the moment he is building a new house so the car will sit for a while. But he will go again, so if anyones got a 71,72 super roller lying
around let us know. The next one will be better again = more power.
Keith.
Its a credit the car was built strong enough!!:thumbJVLRacing
End over end! That's frightening. He's lucky his arm didn't fly out the windo and get crushed because there's no window net.
I don't have a Superbug but I'd be happy to contribute a few things for the rebuild.
I've got some cookie cutter wheels, engine tin, lights and assorted bits and bobs. If he puts a list on the forum I can see what I can dig up and
some others might too.
Thanks for the update Keith.

Congrats Nathan!! :thumb
Is this your 1st win since you've switched over to tarmac?
Cheers Craig
Well done Nathan.
CYA CT
CT,
Thanks for the kind offer. Colin doesnt have a computer so i will let him know. And congrats to the winner!
Keith.

dont want to be a bummer but will the win count? Regs say that there has to be a minimum of 4 timed runs.
Its poor form that the club concerned didnt take the NSWHCC competitors interests at heart and stop the non registered from running while the
registered did their minimum. People invest a lot of money into a championship. One of our guys travelled 700kms round trip and paid $1.20 per second
track time.
Yeah chris, I'm interested to see how they go with this.
Well the same situation occurred on the Bathurst round of March 19. There were 93 starters, only 3 timed runs, and the day was finished by 3 0'clock. There were rumblings along the same lines as Amazer mentioned above however nothing to my knowledge has happened and the points and positions still stand for all competitors.
